Sir George Stanley is the third husband of Benedicta Grey.

Physical Appearance[]
George is a bit taller than his stepsons John and Harold and quite stout, with a round cheerful face that is "rosily guileless". His features are nondescript except for a pair of wide brown eyes that give him "an air of pleasant expectation".[2]
Name[]
- George comes from the Greek name Γεωργιος (Georgios) which was derived from the Greek word γεωργος (georgos) meaning "farmer, earthworker", itself derived from the elements γη (ge) "earth" and εργον (ergon) "work".[3]
- Stanley is from a place name meaning "stone clearing" in Old English.[4]
