Peggy is the William Ransom's nursemaid at Helwater. She has worked for Lord and Lady Dunsany and the Dunsany family since at around the time of William's birth. She likely reports to the more senior Nanny Elspeth.

The Scottish Prisoner[]
Peggy brings William to the stables after his successful visit a few days prior. She has been given William because Lord and Lady Dunsany as well as Nanny Elspeth have the flu, but she herself appears to have the flu as well. She is relieved to leave William in the care of Jamie Fraser (who she knows as "Mackenzie") while she rests.
Months later, she delivers a message from Jamie to Betty Mitchell. By late 1760, she is regularly bringing William to the stables to spend time with Jamie and the horses.
Physical Appearance[]
She is young and rather stout.[1] She has a bad leg.[2]
