Drums of Autumn[]
Judge Alderdyce is invited to several parties at River Run. The pregnant but legally unmarried Brianna suspects Jocasta has invited the judge as a potential marriage prospect. He appears to be interested in Brianna and shows her extra attention during dinner.
Brianna tells Lord John Grey that Mrs. Alderdyce would veto a marriage, but Lord John suspects that Mrs. Alderdyce's wish for a grandchild (whether biological or not) outweighs any concerns about Brianna's moral character. He hints that Judge Alderdyce may be uninterested in women.[1]
Drums of Autumn[]
Judge Alderdyce's mother attends Jocasta and Duncan Innes's wedding at River Run. It's possible the judge himself also attended.
