Davina Porter is the narrator of the unabridged audio recordings of the Outlander series.
Biography[]
Davina started narrating for Recorded Books in 1985, when she narrated John Prebble's Culloden. Since then she has narrated over 400 audiobooks.[1]
She was the winner of Audio Publishers Association's Audie Award in 2006 for Best Female Narrator with A Breath of Snow and Ashes and in 2004 for Inspirational Fiction with Treasure of Stonewycke.[2] She was one of three AudioFile Golden Voices in 2002 and 2003, and has also been named one of AudioFile's 50 Best Voices of the Last Century.[3] At least twenty of her narrations have earned AudioFile's Earphones Award, including her readings of Written in My Own Heart's Blood and A Breath of Snow and Ashes.[4] In 2015 her recording of Written In My Own Heart's Blood earned her a Voice Arts Award for Best Voiceover in Fiction.[5]
A member of Actors' Equity, Davina has acted and directed for the stage in numerous productions. She was a member of the Square One Theatre Company, appearing in productions such as The Importance of Being Earnest, Hay Fever, and Time of My Life.[6] Other stage credits include Quartet (The Small Town Theatre Company), Everything in the Garden (Polka Dot Playhouse), A Murder is Announced (Westport Community Theatre), and A Little Night Music (Candlewood Playhouse).
