An Echo in the Bone[]

When Claire and Jamie return to Edinburgh, they bring letters to give to Andy Bell's brother Richard. Upon arrival Jamie is dismayed to realize that Andy has been using his printing press rather than simply storing it. Though their reunion is a joyful one, Andy readily admits to owing Jamie for "renting the services of [Jamie's] beloved.”[2]

Andy is interested in the body of Simon Fraser, and returns to Jamie and Claire's lodgings to take a closer look at the now-leaking casket.

He later suggests to Claire that she write a book about health and hygiene, and offers to print it for free to repay his past use of Jamie's printing press. In the end, with Andy's help, Jamie and Claire write and print a book each.
