Some man (looks like either Jamie or John Grey) reaching into the outhouse hole and pulling out a snake. What is the significance of this?
Re: Roger’s flaw.
Think about it: All of Diana’s characters are flawed. We generally dislike something about all of them, right?!
I was wondering that too

The seasons *are* ridiculously short. (We’re already halfway through the season! 😳😢) We are told it’s because it’s an expensive show to make, in large part due to all the traveling.
Thank you Katya for that explanation. I find that useful.
I just don’t understand how he has bites on his thighs if ‘nothing happened’!
Not much of a relationship. They were not meant to be.
Doesn’t an accent stick more when you move somewhere else later in life? If Sam or Caitriona had moved to the USA when they were children, their original accents would be long gone by now.
Claire moved to Boston when she was about 30. Naturally she’d still have a strong English accent.
How can Jamie have held Brianna as a babe and kissed her ear? Is this a dream?
A deleted scene? Is it on YouTube?
That would be cool. It took some getting used to Davina’s narration because for me, her voices for Claire, Jamie and Frank sound too old. I’m on Voyager now and Davina seems to have forgotten that Brianna is American, not English (despite her parents having English accents). She had an American accent in the second book but now she has an English accent!
Of course they aim to please with the casting of characters!
I’m listening to Voyager (B3) right now and just a couple of nights ago, Claire, Brianna and Roger heard from Fiona that the Dun Bonnet allowed/arranged himself to be captured in order for his people to benefit from the reward and be able to eat. This was in chapter 6 or 7 I believe because I was taken aback by hearing the date at the top of the page where Claire found Jamie’s name. It had been written on May the 16th, 1753 and I was listening to it on May 16th, 2018! And I shared the quote on Facebook.
If Claire did tell Frank how horrible Black Jack was, and somewhere else in the books Brianna said Frank admired him, perhaps Diana forgot what she had written before. That may be blasphemy towards a talented writer but she is human! :)
It does look like *Taran* (not Darren) but I don’t think it’s the same fella. Those two guest roles are too big to use the same actor. That’s ironic to say when Tobias Menzies plays two major roles for two seasons!
*Lallybroch, not Lollybroch 😃❤️✌🏻
Good point. I’m embarrassed and annoyed with myself for not thinking of that!!
When that scene starts, Jamie is down on one knee in front of Willie. I wish we could see that exchange with him. 😭
Okay so it has to be Jamie’s ghost because that’s the only way he could see her in 1945. He would have died in the 18th century. After Claire goes back through the stones to return to him from 1968, if she stays in the 18th century until her death then she ‘could be’ a ghost with him. This brings me to believe she does not become a ghost when she dies in the 18th century. Either her soul goes up to heaven from the 18th century or if Jamie dies before she does, she goes back through the stones to whatever year it would be in the future and so the only way for Jamie to see Claire is as a ghost, waiting on Earthly time to pass.
Does that make any sense?
Off the subject:
I’m back on season 1, ep 2 and Jamie’s comforting Claire while she cries about Frank. He soothes her like she’s a bairn by saying “sshhhh”! Sooooo sweeeeeeet!!!
He’s so tender with her and yet he had no trouble pushing her off his horse when she tells them about the possible red coats attack! That’s strange. I thought he’d at least show her he feels bad about pushing her off the horse and say “sorry about this!” before doing it!
Maybe he did tell Claire about Murtagh but we don’t see it, just like how Claire tells Brianna and Roger that she used to quote “Freedom and whisky gang together” to Jamie all the time but that’s the first time the audience hears of it.
What is ‘stramash’ and what episode is it in?
My mom is Irish and she often says “houl yer wisht” like Jamie says to the lads after his “first time” (A man that handsome, losing his virginity on his wedding night! swoooooooonnn!!! It’s a pity that’s such a foreign/antiquated concept these days.).
Thank you Laura Joan. I was wondering if Jamie was annoyed about more than just the trouble in the pub.
He didn’t seem drunk! He just wanted some affection from a woman.
